This week Boston hosted the World Championship of Figure Skating (also known as Worlds). As you may know, Laurie is a huge fan of figure skating. She know pretty much every skater since Nancy Kerrigan. The competition is a four day event with competitions going on each day.
Laurie and I went of Saturday not only because we both have Saturdays off, but because the finals of two disciplines were on Saturday. The first was the Ice Dance Competition which started at 1:30 pm. The team Choke and Bates from the USA won. They were the favorite so it wasn't a surprise. The Canadian team was second. Third was the team from Great Brittan Fear/Gibson who deserved their medal.
After only forty five minutes the Men's started. Twenty four men make the final. Most of the competitors in the first two groups are not very good compared to the medal contenders. The USA won and a high flying kid from Kazakhstan came in second. It was a fun day.
